Abstract
This keynote and tutorial introduces in silico neuroscience as an emerging paradigm for accelerating brain discovery. The session discusses how pretrained encoding models of the brain can be used to generate in silico neural responses to large numbers of sensory stimuli, enabling scalable hypothesis testing and exploratory analysis before targeted in vivo validation. The tutorial provides hands-on experience with the Brain Encoding Response Generator (BERG), a resource for generating in silico neural responses to visual and linguistic stimuli. Participants will use BERG to generate in silico fMRI responses, validate their reliability by testing known organizing principles of visual cortex, and explore visual selectivity across cortical regions through interactive large-scale experiments.
